Ellen DeGeneres reacts for the first time to her ex Anne Heche’s hospitalization after a car accident – National

Former talk show host Ellen Degeneres shared a few words about his ex’s fiery accident and hospitalization for the first time in a short interview.

Ana Hechewhom DeGeneres dated between 1997 and 2000, is currently in a coma after a serious car accident on August 5.

DeGeneres, 64, was approached Monday by a Daily Mail photographer in Santa Barbara, California, who asked about Heche’s condition.

“We’re not in contact so I wouldn’t know,” DeGeneres responded before adding, “I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”

“It was a pretty dangerous accident that happened, wasn’t it?” the cameraman asked.

“Hell yeah,” DeGeneres said as she headed to her car.

DeGeneres is the latest celebrity to react to Heche’s accident.

Alec Baldwin, a frequent Heche co-star, shared a video on Instagram on Saturday where he wished Heche a speedy recovery.

“There aren’t many women I’ve worked with who are as brave as Anne is,” Baldwin said. “I love you Anne I love you and I think you are such a talented person and I hope all is well I hope you get through this.”

“My heart goes out to you,” Baldwin added. “I send you all my love”.

Rosanna Arquette tweeted her best wishes to Heche on the day of her accident, writing: “Anne Heche is in hospital badly burned from a car accident this is really tragic. Pray for her.”

Heche, 53, remains in critical condition after losing consciousness shortly after crashing her blue Mini Cooper into a Los Angeles home, starting a fire that required 59 firefighters to extinguish.

Michael McConnell of Zero Gravity Management, who represents Heche, told Reuters the actor was still comatose and connected to a ventilator on Monday. There have been no updates on his condition since then.

McConnell also told the outlet that Heche has “significant lung injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns requiring surgical intervention.”

According to celebrity news website TMZ, Heche had before it crashed into the garage from another nearby apartment building before fleeing the scene.

The home hit by Heche’s car was destroyed and red-tagged by the Los Angeles Fire Department, meaning it was deemed unsafe for habitation.
