Celebrities who fought in boxing or MMA matches

Some of these feel like a fever dream.

It seems that people who are famous for more than just boxing often want to try their hand at boxing. Either Black Chyna this past weekendor the complete boxing card of Youtubers vs TikTokers that took place in 2021, or Jake Paul pivoting For a legitimate professional boxing career in recent years, the fascination with punching is undeniable. Let’s take a look at some of the brave celebrities who have stepped into the ring in the past.

Kim Kardashian did a celebrity boxing match for charity in 2009, though unlike many of the others on this list, she wasn’t thrilled to be involved, saying so before the fight.

Despite her fear, Kim (dressed in pink) found the courage to step into the ring and participate in the exhibition.

Fortunately, he had a crash helmet on, because Kim took a lot of hits from his aggressive opponent along the way.

Though he ultimately lost the fight, kim said“Even though I didn’t win, I’m still very proud of myself for going in there and defending myself.”

Justin Trudeau, now Prime Minister of Canada, punched a Canadian senator named Patrick Brazeau in March 2012, and it was a FIGHT.

Trudeau (dressed in red) was hammered in the first round, taking a lot of hits while seemingly trying to get his bearings.

But in the second and third rounds, Trudeau responded well, hitting Brazeau with a flurry of punches that turned the crowd into fans, many chanting his name throughout the fight.

The match was for charity, but there was a very WWE stipulation that the loser had to get a haircut, which I guess raised the stakes. going on, Trudeau was expected to lose this fight.and even the announcers sound surprised/salty when the tides turn in the second round and he begins to dominate.

Ricky Gervais did a charity boxing match in 2002, competing in three 90-second rounds.

From the opening bell, Gervais (dressed in red) and his opponent squared off, with plenty of punches thrown and plenty of shoving and shoving throughout.

In the end, the judges declared Gervais the winner. in a interview 2021Gervais recalled the fight, saying, “It was an amazing experience and it was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Idris Elba had a professional kickboxing fight in 2016, at the age of 44, after training for an entire year to prepare.

Much of Elba’s preparation process was documented in a Discovery UK series, showing the time he spent training in Thailanduntil the August 2016 fight.

After a somewhat slow start, Elba got into a rhythm and won in the first round by knockout.

Jake Gyllenhaal learned to box for his role in Left handed training twice a day for five months.

Gyllenhaal said that he and his coach focused on very specific techniques that they learned step by step. “We spent weeks on my jab and my jab alone. Footwork as well.”

While he did not have an official publicized match, he said that he did a lot of matches for the film. When asked by Howard Stern if training partners could punch him in the face, Gyllenhaal said“They they can hit my face, and they made I hit my face, but we fought with the body during most of the practice training sessions, then we went into full combat.”

The pairing seems a bit odd, as Carter is 6’0″ and 175 pounds with a 71-inch reach…

…while Odom is 6’10” and 239 pounds with an 82-inch reach. That made him the biggest man by 10 inches, 64 pounds and 11-inch reach.

Carter started out aggressively, throwing a lot of punches but struggling to get to Lamar’s face because of the height difference.

Odom quickly began using his reach advantage to land punches on Carter.

And in the second round, Odom landed so many punches that the referee stopped the fight and declared him the winner.

Dave Bautista has been known for years as one of the best in WWE and starring in movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, army of the deadY Dunebut back in 2012, he decided to fight in a mixed martial arts match.

This was Bautista’s first fight, and his opponent had over 40 fights under his belt, so experience-wise, he came into this one at a pretty big disadvantage.

Early on, Bautista faced some adversity and took several hits.

Eventually, Bautista managed to knock his opponent down and land several punches until the fight was stopped and he was declared the winner.

And finally, Rob Kardashian boxed during the same event as his sister, Kim. Stepping into the ring, he was immediately shocked at the size of his opponent.

Pretty much from the start, Rob (white and red) fought his much more aggressive opponent.

At one point, he took off Rob’s helmet.

Things concluded when Rob was knocked down and his opponent continued to attack while he was on the ground.
